Upper floor nears completion

Progress continues at a steady speed and the form work has been assembled ready for the “first floor” slab.

Still undecuded whther to go for brick / ceramic / aeroc for the wall to the upper floor . Prices are 30% cheaper for the aeroc but my contractor says it is not a good environmental solution.

It is quicker though and it’s what I would do in the west.

We will see.

Lower floor near completion

When I said that I wanted the concrete finish internal to be the actual wall finish the contractor looked at me as if I was mad. “But what about the plaster?” he said.

This will be a house that has no plaster arches; no angels in cornices; no pink; No low headroom; No irregular stairs;  no odd step at the bottom to trip you up.

The Walls Begin!

The slab has been cast and work now begins on the “structura vertikalna”… its all very exciting and I like the way the spaces are changing… as a slab the house looked too big and now it is starting to “close in”.

Hats off to Vitalik and his team for keeping to time and finacial schedule. The overall structural cost including the flat roof (excluding windows) is going to be sub $500 psm.
