Well, I have 3 days left in the UK and then I board the plane at 8.05 am at Heathrow to live in the Ukraine – possibly forever. It has been a difficult decision – I am leaving those things which make me belong – from the local pub to the TV. Those though are immaterial – it is my daughter that I will miss most – the simple fact is that my marriage has collapsed and faced with living in a small flat in Essex I have chosen to live in a larger flat in a country which is young and developing fast. I have always said I could work anywhere where there is an internet connection – now I am about to find out. I am being brief now but eventually you will probably hear the whole story. For now – just think of leaving your homeland in 3 days – an adventure? Hopefully – Yes.

I'm the author of the blog and the book "Telling Tales". I spent a happy decade in Ukraine working and living and am now settled in the UK with my Ukrainian wife and our three children. The book is based loosely on tales from Anya's past most notably the period of the Holodomor.
Telling Tales
This is the working cover and title of my new project
